Amica at Aurora is a terraced, 7-storey, 148-suite Retirement Home over a single level of parking.

This prominent, sloping Yonge Street location is shared with the Aurora United Church in a unique 99-year Land Lease arrangement. The opportunity to redevelop arose out of a tragic fire that destroyed the original heritage church in 2014.

Murphy Partners was initially retained by the congregation of Aurora United Church to assist with its efforts to rebuild. Subsequently, a search for a developer to finance and execute the construction led to the involvement of Amica.

Significant effort and design ingenuity went into gaining the necessary planning approvals for this major development in a sensitive Heritage District neighbourhood and in balancing the functional requirements of two very dissimilar client groups.
