Knox Presbyterian Church

Knox Presbyterian Church is a heritage designated place of worship strategically located at the corner of Spadina Avenue and Harbord Street in the heart of the University of Toronto campus

Murphy Partners was retained to assist the church in exploring a wide range of development options during a two-year engagement.

In addition to extensive interior renovations of the existing spaces, options for new construction were evaluated to augment Knox’s annual revenues. These included Student Housing for U of T, a residence for foreign Divinity students, several types of Seniors Housing and a neighbourhood Outreach Centre, which proposed the integration of three nearby retail properties along Harbord Street and joined them to the Church by means of a large, multi-storey glazed Atrium.

In conjunction with the services of a Professional Land Economist, a detailed financial pro forma for each option was prepared for presentation to the Church Board.
