Mayfield Senior Residence

Brampton, Ontario

Murphy Partners designed a new 200-suite, 8-storey retirement residence on a 2.55 acre site in Brampton. The first floor is a shared amenity floor including dining, pub/bistro, home theatre, fitness & beauty, an open forest view deck, and more. The second and third floors house memory care and assisted living units respectively, complemented by their own user-specific amenities comprising of lounge, dining area, spa, exclusive secure terraces, patio spaces, and more.

The long rectangular design arose from a site-sensitive requirement to preserve the existing natural heritage lands within the lot lines and exclude them from the buildable area.

The building facade incorporates vertically staggered external frames which set off the window openings and green roof terraces. At the rear side, a forest view deck, secure terraces, and patios connect the users to views of the undisturbed green space to the south.

In addition to green roofs on levels four and seven, multiple landscaped spaces are proposed on level one for both environmental and aesthetic benefits.

Parking for 91 cars is combined in a basement parking lot as well as a surface parking lot, providing sufficient parking for both residents and visitors.
