Murphy Partners designed and coordinated the development of a new 132 suite, 4-storey Retirement Residence on a 1.2 acre site in Oakville. The project mix included 100 independent senior living suites on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors, and 32 assisted living suites with exclusive outdoor amenity spaces on the 2nd floor. The 5th floor accommodated a green roof and amenity spaces.

We dealt with the long and narrow site by breaking the front facade along Garden Drive to 3 distinct blocks, with the main entrance in the middle. The back of the building is terraced to provide additional outdoor amenities and a transition towards the adjacent townhomes. This approach achieved greater usable floor area, commanding views of the park, and the approval of the local planning department.

Parking for 72 cars was provided in a single-level underground parkade to meet the requirements of both the Retirement Residence and a small component of Retail uses.
