Nisbet Lodge LTC & McClintock Manor

We have found Bob to be a good listener and creative in his approach. He is also focused and gets things done on time. His firm too believes in giving back and has made a flight on a vintage airplane available to our Foundation for fundraising purposes.

Nisbet Lodge is a 40-year-old long term care facility in Toronto, comprised of two 13-storey concrete towers. One tower is dedicated to long term care, while the other contains retirement suites.

The Board retained Murphy Partners to provide architectural services related to a high-level review of its options to repurpose Nisbet Lodge.

The property is owned by the Calvary Church, and the Seniors Apartments (McClintock Manor) are operated by the City of Toronto. The nursing home component is no longer compliant with the current Long Term Care Design Standards of the MOHLTC and the Board has determined it is neither physically nor economically feasible to bring it up to those standards.

The preferred course of action ‘שs to sell the licenses to another LTC operator and repurpose Nisbet Lodge to some form of Seniors Housing as a continuation of Calvary Church’s historic service and outreach to the residents of East Toronto.

The Nisbet Lodge and McClintock Manor facilities are conjoined 13-storey reinforced concrete structures over a shared single level parkade. They also share numerous building services including fire exits, water, power, sprinklers and fire alarms. To a lesser extent there is also some sharing of services with the adjacent Calvary Church.
